Having that monotone outfit in bright lime green is such a neat idea but boy it can get pricey to find boots that fit you, are light enough to be dyed, have the right heal and height, plus you have to find someone to dye them for you. I think this was the hardest part by far in putting together my wardrobe. I can’t help you much with secrets to dying your boots. I never did master that other than finding people spread across the country to dye them for me. I can help you in find a cheap pair that you can send off to someone.
The first thing to do is search ebay. I currently have 6 or 7 pairs of boots listed on ebay for sale. Many of them would be perfect for dying. I would search for “rodeo queen boots,” “ladies western boots,” or anything similiar to that. Depending on the color you plan on dying the boots you can use some darker colored boots. I once got away with dying a teal pair of boots a dark purple color, it works! Of course white and cream colored boots are always the best bet if you can find them.
The next cheap place to look is your local pawn and thrift shops. My mom and I would go down about once a month to our thrift stores to check. We lucked out more than once. Sometimes this is even cheaper than ebay.
If you still can’t find the kind of boots you need, call Harris Western in Texas. They are always helping queens (get your white Wranglers there too). Sheplars also has nice white boots for fairly inexpensive. Good luck!!
