Job Description:  Museum Store Manager

 

Reports to:  Chief Financial Officer

 

General Duty Summary:  Responsible for Museum Store sales, merchandise inventory, and exemplary

   customer service by Museum Store sales associates.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

                *Develop, maintain, and monitor Museum Store personnel training programs which set a daily

   example of excellence and pride in customer service.

               

                *Research and attend various markets to obtain merchandise that is Western in theme, unique

                   quality, and corresponds to the mission of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

               

                *Maintain working relationships with vendors.

 

                *Become proficient in the understanding and use of The Museum Store’s point of sale system.

 

                *Maintain a close working relationship with the Accounting Department for the annual budget, sales

                  reports and analysis, vendor payables, and inventory control.

 

                *Responsible for purchasing/re-order process, inventory processing and control, cycle counts on

                   a scheduled basis, and the year-end total physical inventory count.

 

                *Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of The Museum Store, and the professional

                   appearance of Museum Store personnel.

 

                *Become familiar with and develop strategies for target customer.

 

                *Establish contacts with corporate organizations.

 

                *Establish and maintain working relationships with the Museum’s Marketing Department to

                   promote and advance The Museum Store’s presence both locally and nationally.

 

Qualifications:  Related business or marketing degree preferable

                                Background in retail sales necessary, with management experience preferred.

                                Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills
