Congratulations are in order for the NHSRA Finals contestants!
Montana’s own Cadee Tew from Belgrade was crowned the national champ in the breakaway roping with a time of 9.949! Bobbi Gran from Sheyenne, North Dakota found herself in the winner’s circle in the goat tying with an average time of 25.624. As a team, Montana finished tenth overall!!! Congratulations to all the contestants and new national champions!
The queens had a long ten days in Farmington, New Mexico. While I was not able to attend this year, I have attended in years past. I know how hard each and every girl worked to get there. Just competing in a National competition says a lot about each girl. Taci Shaffer from Utah brought home the crown to the Beehive State. This was the third year in a row that Utah has won the National High School Rodeo Association Queen. Kya Laulainen from Minnesota was 1st runner-up. Once again, congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2008 National High School Finals Rodeo in Farmington, New Mexico. Wondering about your favorite cowboy or cowgirl that I haven’t mentioned? Results are posted at www.nhsra.com.
