School is starting all over the country. This means a lot of things: fall time, shorter days, change in schedules, less rodeos. If you are a rodeo queen your schedule is probably beginning to calm down a little from the hectic summer months. School will be starting soon so your gears will be changing a bit.
A challenge I always had with running for queen and even being the rodeo queen during the fall is how do I balance responsibilites? Many of you might find yourself asking the same questions. If you are attending school you are now very busy and might struggle to find extra time to ride, study, exercise, etc. Here are a few pointers to keep you going with the rodeo queening and keeps you on track with school at the same time.
* Find a routine, once you get that routine, find out where you have time to spare so you can start scheduling riding and study times for being a rodeo queen.
* Don’t overbook yourself. This might lead to fatigue, illness, unneeded stress, among other things. Make sure to get to bed at a reasonable time and take your vitamins!
* Multi-task. Read motivational material or other material that helps you prepare for the pageant (PSN) while you do cardio at the local gym. Listen to the news while you cook dinner.
* Wake up early. This is a productive time of the day - resist the urge to sleep in until the last minute. Taking a brief walk in the mornings will give you more energy to get things done during the day, gives you time to yourself, is exercise, and clears your mind.
Girls are generally pretty good about organizing and multi-tasking; but if you are not one that finds these kind of things easy to do, start slow. Don’t try to tackle everything at once and by all means, do NOT leave everything to the last minute! Hope this helps relieve some stress while you are adjusting to your new schedules!
